Well, from Monday to Friday I did volunteer work at the Stronach Recreation Centre, where I served as a volunteer for a program called "Drama Camp". When I first got to Stronach, I was overwhelmed, I didn't know a single person there except for Carmen. I found the group of volunteers and stood with them while a lady from the Thames Valley Children's Centre gave us a short orientation of the area. After that we were led into a main "activity room". I immediately was told to "mingle" with the kids, I found a child named "Jacob" and immediately started to draw and colour stuff with him, he was a nice enough kid with a strange accent that I couldn't pinpoint. After waiting for a few minutes, we were told that everyone was present and that we could begin. The day began with the "boss lady" Lisa leading the kids in writing up rules for the Camp, then we introduced ourselves and told the kids which group we would be assisting with. We then went out into the "Arena Pad" where we played a ice breaker game, then we broke off into groups. My group consisted of all the guys (7 in all not including the counseller "Rob" and myself) we went to paint a mural of a Safari. Immediately we had a problem with two kids fighting, they were told to play nice or something like that and we finished the mural. Then we had a snack and played a few games, then we had lunch. After lunch we went out to play a game and finish off the day (yes, I cut a few things out from this entry).

Day 2

By now I had learned the names of the kids and the counsellors, there were a few kids in particular that I really enjoyed hanging out with. Ian, Chris, and Colin, they were the kids from Thames Valley Children's Centre, they had conditions, Ian was confined to a wheelchair, Chris and Colin were (I think) smallish in size and wouldn't grow again for their lives. They were all the most normal kids I could ever meet, maybe even better than normal, their outlooks on life were all just mind boggling. The second day, we began practising for our play about a Safari with animals dying and mauling and such (keep in mind that these kids are only like 7-13) anyway we got those out of the way and began making our masks, we also swam a bit and I learned the essence of fear. These kids enjoy jumping up on my shoulders and stuff, and that's fine and all, but when you're in water, it's frightening, when kids are pulling you underwater unexpectantly. You're left underwater with kids laughing and pushing you farther in while you're actually trying to stay alive, anyway, needless to say, I survived.

Day 3

We started off the day with some Speed with Chris, we practised our play and finished of masks that day. We played a game in the Arena and went swimming, we didn't really do much for the rest of that day. Swimming was scary as usual and the kids kept coming. At the end of it all, I was left with a few bruises and a headache the size of the Texas. We also met our new volunteer and my partner, Houissan, or pronounced Wee-San. Or aptly nicknamed, Wee-Wee.

Day 4

We started off playing games and presented our plays to everyone and had our mini-talent show. It was relatively calm that day, until swimming where I helped a couple of the kids have a splash fight with some other kids, the pool was so packed that day. Houissan was "big pimpin'" with some of the girls and had them all over him (literally) in the pool.

Day 5

Day Camp Day, four hundred little kids in one Arena, loud? Yes. Painful? Yes. Tiring? Definitely. I think I went crazy seven times all the time we were there. But in all it was a really enlightening experience when we returned to our home Centre. We just said our goodbyes to each of the kids and left them for good.

Until next time,
Gavin

Hey Everyone,

Just an update on this week, I've decided to blog weekly now...Monday, I didn't really do much on that day, it looked really rainy that day and Mat called me to play basketball with him before he went out and served as Umpire for a little league softball game. So I went and played with him, surprisingly the weather cleared up, I left soon after the softball game started, I don't have much interest in it anymore. So then I went home, at 8 pm, Mat calls me back to play MORE basketball, so I go back to the school and try to beat him...which I don't...

Tuesday, nothing much happened, just sat around same for Wednesday...

Thursday, Andy comes over for a sleepover with my brother. That night I go to Badminton and an announcement is made that this would be the last session of the summer, now I have no where to go to get excercise..I AM gonna be fat..

Friday, not much happened, Andy is gonna spend another night here..

Later

Hey everyone,

Okay, I'm just going to relate to Sunday Church in this post because nothing happened today (Monday)..

Let's see, Sunday Morning I woke up and headed down to Church, nothing too exciting until we (Joe and Me) met up with some sweeeeeeeeeeeet Garlic Bread man, I mean sweeeeeet garlic bread. We munched on that for a while as Pastor Dale ushered us onto the stage and begun our lesson which consisted of hearing Nebucchadezzar go crazy then..mysteriously..un-crazy. It was a cool lesson though. Well then after class we had some time to sit around and do nothing, and do nothing we did :D:D:D

I then went to do Children's Sunday School worship, I wanted to stay there to watch a movie with the kids but Josh's Mommy wouldn't let me :'(

I did the song "As We Gather" and for the first time, I really enjoyed doing worship, everyone sang their hearts out and it was just an eye opening experience for me. Then I travelled up to Joint Service, the service was fine I guess, Pastor Dale's message was good too, but the one thing that struck me as being really, really wrong was when the Communion started and the Meditation time there. Lina and Carmen were giggling and talking through it, and once I just looked at Carmen during meditation time, she was picking at her nails and giggling at Lina for whatever reason. I mean COME ON PEOPLE, LINA I CAN UNDERSTAND BUT CARMEN HAS BEEN IN CHURCH FOR HOW LONG? which seriously made me rethink some things about people. It made me consider the point of "Sunday Christians" those people who just go to Church and act good and polite just to fit in with people. I mean if you guys don't really feel like being Christian or just don't want to, why not just skip the acting and come out with it? That thought made me and still does make me absolutely furious, how can we think that we can cheat God or cheat good friends into thinking that you are a good Christian when you're just acting? Where's the honour in that?

Anyway, I just don't want to be thinking about that as of this moment, I'm doing well enough with my relationship with God and I need to focus on that moreso than my beef with other people...

Later

Okay, back now guys and girls..Wow I just realized I didn't even blog up on my birthday..-_-

Anyway, I'll start from last night, I went to the Canada Day Celebrations at Harris Park. But one sticks out, while a water gun fight somehow turned into guys against girls, the girls quit and left Carmen alone to face us. She had this HUUUGE gun, but yet, was unable to use it for reasons still unknown to me. Anyway, Joe went out and filled a bucket with water, then when I saw him coming, I grabbed Carmen and prevented her from moving, Joe then dumped the water. I sacrificed myself to get Carmen soaking wet :D. Nothing else happened after, we all stood around, and in true HYPE fashion, planned a trip to the movies (including rides and payment) in less than twenty minutes, with the majority of the time waiting for Jason to get the showtimes. Anyway we went to see Troy..a great movie..the guy totally got his head battered with a torch :D:D:D

Anyway, after that I went home and slept :D

Sunday- Nothing really, went to church played some football, went home, studied ate dinner, studied and here I am now. :D

Lates guys

NEEE HOW, NGAR!!!

Long time no post eh? Alright, I'll just outline my weekend for all of you hungry readers of my privacy. Friday, nothing much happened except for the huge Spanish Field Trip, no it's not what you think, we went to a Spanish restaurant named "Under The Volcano" it was sweet to say the least. You get to miss school and EAT, I got this really spicy catfood like stuff called the "Beef Cayenne". See the first ten minutes of eating it, you don't really feel anything, then the spicyness kicks in and you're basically drinking down any liquid you can get your hands on. Yes...quite fun. Then afterschool I went to practise songs for worship with Joe, Grace and JT. The songs were actually pretty good and I got to test out my new guitar skillz..:D Then Pastor Dale called me and told me about this Jesus Day Festival at the Western Fair, I quickly phoned up some people and got a group going.

The next morning I woke up at like 7:50am and Rebecca came over to get picked up. Pastor Dale came and got us and we proceeded to Western Fair, where we helped set up. At the Festival there weren't many people there for whatever reason, but I'm happy because I got some volunteer hours out of it. After that I sat at home, mowed the lawn, showered then went to HYPE. There was this huge LCAC dinner thing at Carmen's house, I didn't eat much for whatever reason and then HYPE started, we discussed Speaking in Wisdom and I poked fun at Joe..Those of you who know Joe, know why. After that I went home and fell asleep.

Sunday morning, I woke up, ate something and left at around 8:15. I got to the Church earlier than anyone and let myself in, I sat there reading the songs and hooking stuff up for a solid fifteen minutes before the slackers came in.

The Following is a List of All Reasons Why People Should Come to Church Earlier.

Number one, to eliminate any and all technical problems before anyone starts walking in.

Number two, to run through all the songs at a good pace, not rushed.

Number three, to finish all work and have some time left over for reflection, prayer and meditation before going out and serving God.

Anyway, the worship was done well enough in my opinion, except for I kept on forgetting to turn on my mic for some reason...Anyway, I finally did a fast song correctly and I really felt God moving in that place this morning. Whatever it was, I smiled and basically reached out and touched God and really felt a connection. After service we had CHOCOLATE CHIP BANANA LOAF!!!! It was sooo goood...then after it was done, I whipped out this bag of gummy bears. Which Joe then proceeded to chase me around to get one, we ran outside to the huge Wheable sign. As we ran around it, I ducked in and moved about the sign, finally he caught me and I gave him one gummy bear. Then we met up with Wendy who said that she was going home, we whined to her about being hungry, so she pointed out the cup noodles in the church. Then we were like "O-M-G, you're right..let's go" as we walked back towards the Church we started..TRYING to run, we got three steps then started panting and walking again. Once inside, we found the cup noodles (bui mein) and proceeded to make some. The secret was out however within like three minutes, then HYPE and Counsellors rushed in and wanted some, we all sat there munching and talking about MSG then class started. Class was really weird, I kept zoning out and basically sleeping, as a direct result I didn't remember much.

Then I went home and did homework until we left to go eat dinner at Kit Yee Yee's place. Steph was there and we had a good time I guess, didn't eat much, but meh. Then I came home and touched up some of my homework. That leads me to now..so I might blog tomorrow. I dunno..

JAI JEIN, NGAR!!!

Wow, I've broken my blogging silence. I should be doing some kind of work right now, but really, I'm far too lazy to bother. Well talking about badminton Conference on Monday, I got second place, which puts me in WOSSA. The conference was easy enough, but slowly, my energy was chipped away and I had no energy left for the title match, which I ended up losing 15-0. :( Anyway, I'm still happy that I'm going to WOSSA, as I promised everyone. I decided upon writing this just for the sole purpose that certain people were bothering me to continue. As if all of you want to read about my life anyway,.....

So, what happened today? Absolutely nothing, watched the students beat the teachers in a basketball game, though it really didn't count for much since the whole game lasted for only 16 minutes....

Went home, then Graham came and summoned me to go and play basketball, so I did, and now I'm back.

Hello,

Well this is gonna be a post telling you about my day today and yesterday. :D

Yesterday, at school nothing really big happened, until I got to go to our Badminton Meet. It was absolutely easy there, we played Medway, JPII and Clarke Road. I played two matches of best of three games each. I played Medway and Clarke Road in singles. First guy I play is tall and I think that he's gonna take me out. As soon as we get onto the court, he has no footwork, absolutely ugly serves and just can't play. I play around and have some fun for a while in the first game up to 11. The he sneaks up and gets 6 points on me, so I come back and take him out 11-6. Game two, easier, I walked by the team and just stated that this time it was pure business. I take him out 11-0.

Next guy I play is from Clarke Road, he's worse than the first guy, I just play simple drops and drives. I still defeat him in the first game 11-0. Second game I do the same thing with a couple smashes here and there, I defeat him again 11-0. Next we go to STA Tournament.

Well today is quite boring, we had to pay 10 dollars to get to the tournament. Justin and Corey have substituted for Narine and Dan which means that it's up to me and Pat to make some wins happen out there. I have to get up at 6 am to make sure I'm awake enough to play...Ugh...No sleep that means.

Nothing much about today,Craig came over to my house to work on the Science Project, but yet...we ended up playing baskbetall with Mat at the school. This morning I sucked horribly at basketball and I'm not really sure why...Then we headed down to WLAC (West London Alliance Church) to go and play some sports. We started with basketball...yet again and for some reason I became a natural shooting guard. I sunk a lot of shots from three point range. Then we switched over to some group games, they were..enjoyable? Next we played some hardcore dodgeball, two games, I was the last person alive in the last game. It was all going good until I got shot in the face by a ball, that's when the game ended. Rev.Mackness then shared a message and we went to go play volleyball. I will never speak of what happened during volleyball again. Next was more basketball and more shots :D All in all a good night.

So...Good Night!

Hey all,

Horribly bored, it is now...12:39am, tired. Shortened day, I failed to wake from my sleep, still late start? It didn't feel very late and I was certainly not refreshed. Math is now creeping up with me, I've decided to begin to take notes on everything the teacher says so that I can study it at home. Now I'm spiritually exhausted, God's done so much in my life already just in the past week, my soul is tired. Please pray for rest for my soul.

I got a game from Mat, Medal of Honour, Allied Assault, strange only because it crashes on my computer lol. A certain level of anger inside me, I've found out now that it's just God opening up that bottle of emotions that I've kept ever since I was young, my energies were so pent up and so intense that I lashed out at my family. My Dad heard of this and in an effort to help me and support me he wrote me a note. It read:

"May God Bless My Beloved Son.

Only Under Bad Weather Will You Find A Good Captain"

I read that in the way to school, and in first period today, I almost cried, my energies were so misdirected, there was no way I could stay mad at my family, my energies were wiped, and my anger gone. Everything turned out amazing, for in my darkest hour, when I thought the endless stream of anger could not end, God spoke to me, for now there was no barrier to muffle His voice. All he said was two words that I'll never forget: "I'm here." After that, the anger was lifted, my bottle of emotions finally emptied, and for the first time I could ever remember, I was happy really, truly happy.

Today a speaker came to our school by the name of George Chuvalo, talked to us about drug addiction and how his three kids all died from it, his wife commited suicide. I wanted to cry to that, at lunch I killed Martin at fooseball, 7-2, he said that he all the goals I scored, he scored. Fourth and fifith periods were OK, no big deal. I have massive amounts of math homework....Gonna do it now, Later all.

Before I go in for today's entry, I just need to tell everyone. In talking to my fellowship on Saturday, I've realized that God's given me this awesome gift to see into the spiritual realm I can see demons and angels. Of course this is not always the case, it goes in and out sometimes. But at TC 2004 this year, final worship, I felt demons and angels. During a meditation time, I felt two cold rushes of wind inside the closed sanctuary, the wind made me shudder and shake uncontrollably, after these two times, I prayed to God for protection, when I felt something patting me on the back, a pat of reassurance, it was warm and when I turned, there was nothing there. This is how I "discovered" my gift.

Scariest night of my life last night, while having a debate with my friend Josh, he said something along the lines of "God has no need for us". At that moment, a demon entered my mind and began to play around with my emotions and the way I perceived things, I said some things that I will never repeat, I was truly scared. After that, stepping out of my bathroom after taking a shower, the light in my hallway flickered a slight bit and for that instant it flickered, I felt a demonic presence, I could barely see it, but I'm sure it was there. That same night I called Josh again, and we prayed for the house, for God to drive the demons out and for them never to return. We also talked about the Full Armour of God, I have begun to piece my battlesuit on, piece by piece I feel myself gaining more strength in God.

But today was a tiring day, with badminton try-outs. I had too much homework and worked at it until 8. Also, during the course of this next month, I will and am trying to be the best example of a Christian as I can, hopefully I can draw more people to Christ through me. Anyway, after school was try-outs, my friends did well and so did I, nothing too much.

Pray for me.

Ohhh man, this is cool. Josh and Joe have come up with an idea for a website for LCAC or HYPE. I am so excited for this new development. Anyway, about my day...this morning I woke sooooo tired. I went to church and it seems as if Calvin and Carmen forgot they were doing Ushering so Joe and I took over for them. In Service today, a pastor for TEAM of Canada came to speak to us. (TEAM is an acronym for The Evangelical Alliance Mission) It was pretty good except for I couldn't stop falling asleep, then after Service we had Sunday School Class, and yet another pastor told us his testimony, I wanted to cry after that, but I was just so happy that he had found Christ. After Class we had going home time, and thats where I'm staying for most of tonight.

Hey everyone, I'm back in London now, and the "spiritual rush" of TC is starting to go away, but I'm perfectly fine. Though TC was an amazing experience and always is, I'm happy to know that when TC is over, God is still with me in my heart.

Well first off, we woke up this morning, twenty minutes after our goal time, we packed up and left Dave's house and headed on van one of the subway stations, the one on Finch. Anyway, after much much waiting, we finally got to Union Station and took the Train back to London. Nothing much is happening now, except for now I'm waiting for Steph. (She got her G1 by the way.)

NEEEEEEEEEEEEE HOW! To all of you readers.

Today we tried to go out into the Toronto Area to go shopping..(yes, Josh, Jason, and Dave are all girls). Anyway, we took the bus and subway down to the mall, there we ate and shopped....Then we got lost in Downtown Toronto because Joe led us on a walk that lasted 6 hours. Fun? No. Eye opening? Definitely not. Tiring? OH YEAH.

Anyway, tomorrow is going home back to London time, I'll blog more later.

Wei wei, long time no talk, not that anyone even bothers to read my blogs anyway.

TC 2K4!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Again, the highlight of this half year, over 300 Christians raising their voices to the heavens, what's there not to be excited about? Well, I won't go into detail (such is my style), but TC was always and will always be fun for me. Worship in all was amazing! Though this year there were a lot more fast songs, it brought a new depth to what I was used to (the slow songs with Chris) I liked it. The Sermons and such were alright, nothing TOO TOO special, there's a lot more I would like to elaborate on, but meh. The Workshops were fine also, not much to say about those, I THINK I fell asleep during one, there seems to be a giant gap in my memory...I think I fell asleep. My team was amazing!!!!!!

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SILAS!!!!!

We didn't win, but meh, life was still good, I loved my team, see it was sorta funny because only me and a few other guys were able to mobilize the team to cheer and so forth, our cheer was...strange to say the least. I felt like I was telling the story rather than cheering. TC was too great, oh and Joe and I signed up to be TC Junior Team Captains for TC 2K5.

Watch for us, and keep praying.

Well, because of Joe's pokings, I'm blogging again.

K, so this is what is happening in my life. I ate some macaroni with soup (all made by myself :D) and got ready for school. At school, first period science, what can I say? It's science, everyone hates science except for someone I know *cough*Steph*cough*. Anyway, fairly boring but on the bright side, there was minimal homework. Then came the Spanish, boring and worked on some project. Lunch, beat Evan at that weird air hockey game two-one. Comforted Astri in her time of need and proceeded to French where I presented my little essay crap. Then came math where we had no homework, and a substitute, then went home. Sat at Graham's for a while as I played his Warcraft III. Now I have this crap project thing to do for science...

Anyway, not bad, but not good eh?

Morning, should be going to church right? Guess not, see today we're going to see a Raptors game in Toronto, Graham's birthday party bash thing. Anyway, it's Raps vs Kings....Kings win anyway. Lol, anyway life right now is very slow...I'll blog up after I come back.

Back now from Toronto, tired and not wanting to go to school, the funny thing was that Graham was bragging about how good his seats supposedly were, they were $25. When we got there we were at the highest seats and standing, yes it was quite crappy. Anyway, after the game (Raps lost by almost 20) we went back home and ate some pizza, actually this day has passed by so quickly.
